Lia Quartapelle è deputata dal 2013, dal 2022 vice presidente della Commissione Esteri. È membra del board italiano dello European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) e presiede l’advisory board di WIIS Italy (Women in International Security). Prima di essere eletta, ha lavorato come ricercatrice presso l’ISPI (Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale). Ha conseguito un master presso la SOAS di Londra e un dottorato in economia presso l’Università di Pavia.
Lia Quartapelle has been an Italian MP for the Democratic Party (PD) since 2013. She is currently the vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies’ Foreign and European Affairs Committee. She is member of the board of ECFR Italy (European Council on Foreign Relations) and chairs the advisory board of WIIS Italy (Women in International Security). Before being elected, she worked as a research fellow at ISPI (Istituto per gli studi di politica internazionale), the oldest Italian think tank on international relations. She holds a Master from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Pavia. She is the author of two academic books, articles and papers, and has contributed with several chapters to edited books.
